The Vigils originated at the old St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Bayside, Queens, Veronica’s parish and relocated in 1975 to the Vatican Pavilion site to accommodate the crowds of pilgrims. Our Lady promised a miraculous spring of water to erupt at the original site and requested that a Basilica be built to be called, “Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers.” Our Lady requests that the clergy conduct these Vigils.

     One day the waters will come up at Bayside and I will appear over the old church building, Your Bishop then cannot deny My appearances.” Our Lady to Veronica, May 17th, 1986 “I will be here to guide you all on the eve of all Feast days.”

Roses brought to the Shrine by kind souls are blessed by Jesus and Mary and given to all. The petals are dried and placed on cards for distribution to souls throughout the world.

Nodule on Lung Disappears

March 29th, 2004

"Hi. I had a nodule on my lung for three years. I had a CAT-scan every 6 to 4 months to watch it. The lung surgeon said it was inoperable since I was a risk for surgery. I prayed to many saints. I put the rose petal and Veronica’s picture on my chest and prayed that my CAT-scan would be negative for any new growth or change in the nodule. Well, the CAT-scan showed that the nodule disappeared. By the way, I was a heavy smoker for 45 years. Thank you.

Bouquets of fresh roses are brought to the Shrine by kind and thoughtful pilgrims attending and are placed at the feet of Our Lady's Shrine Statue for the Rosary prayer vigil.  The roses are then distributed to all the people in attendance at the Shrine.  They are also sent to all who ask, especially the ill, the infirm and those in need of physical and spiritual cures who cannot attend.  Thousands of miraculous cures, both physical and spiritual have been given through the prayers at the Shrine and Rose Petals blessed by Our Lady during the prayers.

This outstanding miraculous photo of Our Lady of the Roses was taken of Our Lady’s Shrine statue with a Polaroid camera by a pilgrim at the Vigil of December 31st, 1999. (also the eve of the new Millennium year 2000).   You can see Our Lady truly appearing in Her beautiful blue, hands extended as Our Lady of Grace and turned a bit to the right.  The photo was taken of Our Lady’s white statue without a flash, center and close up from her belting up.  Our Lady’s statue did not have a cape or crown on during this Vigil.  The Vigil was held on the grass about 50 yards away from the Vatican Pavilion as we were not permitted on the Pavilion that evening security reasons as fireworks were planned later nearby.  The police had blocked all entrances for cars to enter the Park for ‘Y2K’ night and a New Year’s Eve event held for city officials, politicians and ‘dignitaries’.   Little did they know we had the Queen and King of Heaven! Our Lord also appeared in another miraculous photo that evening too. Although only Veronica could interpret photos, you can notice the rosary bead patterns and the letter G (God?) over Our Lady. On the right it looks like doves or figures bowing in adoration.  Red candles were lit at Our Lady’s feet, but were not in the camera shot, however they appeared in the photo.
